Busy bee..

I am currently changing the look on the product pictures in the shop, doing almost everything all over again. I want the background to be slightly darker than before, more rustique, matching the shop banner. The tiny shabby cupboard I bought at a flea market a couple of weeks ago is doing the job just fine!

Big in Japan

Last night I watched a documentary on the Canadian band Anvil with Sigrid. Although I've seen it once before, it made me all fuzzy and warm again. One word: Dedication. I think every person who's ever played in a band that never made it to the charts (... or even just pretended to play guitar whenever listening to Gary Moore in they're pink room as a kid...) will probably love this film.

But the film is also about lifelong friendships, and family support... -And big 80's hair do's, man!

A few curiosities

The day was spent organizing and clearing out lots of nick nacks from some moving boxes, from our last move in November.. My parents has kindly given me these beautiful old wooden boxes, from a local dairy. We plan to use these as book shelves, so today I washed off decades of dust and dirt.

We have yet to put pictures up on our walls, mostly because we lack frames, and therefore this has been put off for a long time. I guess I'll have to go on a raid to IKEA soon. This fantastic vintage lamp is one of the things I would like to hang on the wall in our hall, but Dylan remains to be convinced. I guess asking for someones forgiveness is a lot easier than asking for their approval.. hehe.

I also made myself this lovely necklace from a vintage rose pendant. The yellow is just perfect!

Golden Saturday

There's something about the things that were filmed in the 60's that makes me think about that decade as golden. Maybe it's just the fact that the pictures that dates from that time in general has more yellow in them, and that it makes everything looks warmer. Maybe it's because the pace was a bit slower, and everything just looks a bit calmer, more friendly, distant and dreamy.. And the fact that I never got to experience that time, since I was born almost 20 years too late.

Someone at work showed me this video on Wednesday, and the tune has been stuck on my mind since that. It makes the days seem more golden.. Enjoy your weekend!

Easter finds

I spent a couple of days at my parents house during easter. The attic there is amazing. It's full of treasures (-and crap) from the past. These have been dusted off and are currently living with me

A set of fancy dessert bowls from the 70's. My parents got them as a wedding present.

A large Norwegian designed porcelain mug, not sure when it dates from, but it used to belong to my grandmother. The small one, also Norwegian designed porcelain, just came with the house.

A happy mix of old plates, will do nicely as props for photographing jewlery.. maybe.

This one I did'nt bring home with me, it just looks interesting. It belonged to my older brother, and has been dismantled..

Once again my cubbards are full for sure, and I'm happy!

Jewlery box spring cleaning

It's Saturday! I've been moving slowly this morning, drinking loads of coffee, cleaning up my messy wardrobe and my jewley box -rediscovering some of my treasures. I am starting to collect up quite a selection of vintage jewelry, and I have to get better at wearing it more frequently..

My collection of vintage brooches is expanding. The sun-like with the rose cabochon in the middle and small colorful beads radomly sprinkled around it, is currently my favorite! It reminds me of a model of the solar system..

A small collection of vintage earrings that I'll never sell, mostly Trifari. I love the shape of these. The one at the bottom is my favorite. Classy!
