Productive Sunday

I am working like a mad man these days, producing lots of new jewelry to sell at a large crafts fair coming up in Oslo 4th and 5th of December. We almost sold out on everything we had last year at that market, so this year we're coming prepared. Or Sigrid is anyway. I'll be at work, unfortunately, so she'll have to push the jewelry to the masses ;-) Meanwhile supplies, pliars and glue is everywhere in my office. Last week the letter "K" stopped working on my keyboard, since a tiny metal piece I had chopped off from a chain got stuck under it. Anyways, I am enjoying being creative... as well as looking at the pile of new earrings, bracelets and necklaces growing by the hour!

Me and D also managed to watch the entire series of "An idiot abroad" this weekend, which was quite funny. If you have'nt seen it, and you'd like to see a travel program with a weird twist -go check it out!

Busy bee..

I am currently changing the look on the product pictures in the shop, doing almost everything all over again. I want the background to be slightly darker than before, more rustique, matching the shop banner. The tiny shabby cupboard I bought at a flea market a couple of weeks ago is doing the job just fine!

Post hollidays..

I've been creative during the Easter hollidays, and here are some of the results... Incredible what a few days off, and more daylight can do with ones creativity.

Got me a rack!

Yesterday I went for a long walk and got me a jewelry rack! It sure makes taking photos of earrings a lot easier. And speaking of earrings, this lot will soon be avaliable at Everyday Glory.

It all of a sudden hit me that I've been ordering a lot of jewelry supplies lately, which will soon arrive.. and I still have a LOT of supplies here in boxes and drawers that I need to make use of. So please; if you see anything you like in the shop, and would like it just a tad different, don't hesitate to let us know! Chances are that we can make it just the way you want it.

A few curiosities

The day was spent organizing and clearing out lots of nick nacks from some moving boxes, from our last move in November.. My parents has kindly given me these beautiful old wooden boxes, from a local dairy. We plan to use these as book shelves, so today I washed off decades of dust and dirt.

We have yet to put pictures up on our walls, mostly because we lack frames, and therefore this has been put off for a long time. I guess I'll have to go on a raid to IKEA soon. This fantastic vintage lamp is one of the things I would like to hang on the wall in our hall, but Dylan remains to be convinced. I guess asking for someones forgiveness is a lot easier than asking for their approval.. hehe.

I also made myself this lovely necklace from a vintage rose pendant. The yellow is just perfect!

Summary

Well, it's been a while! Both Sigrid and I have been reluctant to pick up where we left on our blog. It's been a busy, and fun period of time since the last time any of us blogged.

We almost sold out completely at the "Designernes eget julemarked" ("Designers Christmas Market") here in Oslo. Unfortunately I was unable to contribute there (had to maintain my day job), but Sigrid was there pushing our jewelry out to the Norwegian public, whom until now have been spared a little.

Our Etsy shop has also been well visited in the Christmas rush, and we've almost made friends with the emploees at the local post offices.

I find that it's always hard in the beginning to sell something I've created. Not so much because I grow attached to the things, but more because I'm surprized when people want to buy my creations. We have both gotten better at this though. When things are a bit slow in our Etsy shop we tend to bring a box of jewelry to our day jobs, and boldly put them on a convenient spot where everybody can see it. It always creates a buzz! Or we make sure to always carry a little bit of the jewelry in our bags, so that when people ask "so what kind of jewelry do you make?" we can pull a "Funny you should ask.." and like a rabbit out of the magicians hat: bring out the bling from our bags!

All in all this has been a very good year for Everyday Glory, -and us, and we can't wait to take new pictures of our new jewelry designs as soon as daylight and time allowes it.

So, for now, a merry Christmas to all of you! And thanks for all the good support and cheering along the way!

Sigrid & Anja

Beads and more

I made these pretties a couple of weeks ago, and after snapping picures of them all separately, I took a family photo of them all. Look good together, don't they?? For sale at Everyday Glory.
Ah.. the colours and the shapes... sigh!

Yesterday me and some friends went to see Harry Potter and the half blood prince at the cinema. In my opinion not the best of the Harry Potter movies.

However; I always start looking forward to winter when I watch any of the Potter-movies. The beautiful white winter landscapes, and people dressed in thick scarves and sweaters does it for me, and makes me long for snow and the cold months..

This week we appeared on a Etsy frontpage where the theme was Harry Potter. Our necklace "The Golden Snitch" was featured along with a very cool scarf made by ParkaProject, which looks really good, not to mention warm! Nothing like having something you cannot just go to a chain store and buy! -And there's nothing like getting packages in the mail eigther!

Rush hour

Okay, so neither Sigrid or I have been too active on the blog front lately. Too much to do, I guess. Spring is always very busy at work, and Sigrid have also accomplished to finish some rather heavy classes besides her job, and is now celebrating her achivements, -touring around in Europe.

Our Etsy shop has also suffered a bit under these stressful times, and sales have been a little slow. A lady on one of the Etsy forms said it well the other day; "to be succsessful on Etsy means you have to treat your shop as a business, not as a hobby".

But yeeey! We've been on the frontpage at least three times since last, and that's always very fun! And there's a LOT of beautiful jewelry in boxes just waiting to be photographed and put out for sale.. so drop in every now and then!

Others than that, (other than gluing) I am currently working with the scenography for our studio. Here's a miniature of the old one. Me and one of my co-workers made this one about two months ago, when it was a LOT quieter at work. It's 1:50. Hehe.

Hormones on the wall..

I think it's hillarious that my parents haven't removed some of the wall art in their bedroom, which used to be my room from the age of 11-15. Yup. There was hormones. I have always been drawing a lot, and I remember drawing this one. My mom was having a Tupperware party or something in the livingroom, so it was off limits, and I was spending a few hours in my room. I had seen the Bill and Ted movies and Point Break a few times, so I chose to draw Keanu Reeves on the door. I blame it on my 14 years of age..

A springy look

I took some more photos this morning, having the day off. This necklace is currently one of my favorites. I love the big polkadotted bead, and the rich, brown color on the bead caps compliments the brown dotts on the bead in a perfect way..

Business card

Task of the day: make more business cards..

Oh.. and my boyfriend picked out the colors on the paper (...!). He actually uttered the words "hm, I think this color will look good with the gold color on the stamp.." (...!!) But he should know. He's a colorist. They look great though?

News from the front

Being featured on the front page on Etsy is kind of a biggy, so earlier this week when we all of a sudden had huge amount of new "shop hearts" and hits on one of our bobby pin set's, we got suspisious. As it turns out we were there! On the front page! Look!

Our cute pink shell flower bobbies have now got a new home..
