Busy bee..

I am currently changing the look on the product pictures in the shop, doing almost everything all over again. I want the background to be slightly darker than before, more rustique, matching the shop banner. The tiny shabby cupboard I bought at a flea market a couple of weeks ago is doing the job just fine!

Nicknacks..

My home is not a very romantic nor very feminin decorated home. It's been sensibly furnished, and our love for movies, music and our hobbies are reflected in the decor. I am not a shabby chic girl when it comes to interior design. I love reading interior magazines where people show off their perfect houses, in their perfect, matching clothes, with the inevitable perfect matching kids and golden retriever. But I could never live like that. I need a clean slate, some free, not overfilled space, so that I am able to create something new. Right away, whenever I want, without having to clear out piles of decor first.

However, I easily fall in love with nicknacks. When shop browsing, I have learned to be really strict with my shop impulses, so that the house will not fill up with ornamented vases and boxes. But lately I have discovered this candle holder from Rice.. and I don't think I have the strength in me to resist if I come across this in a shop. Is'nt it awsome??

Got me a rack!

Yesterday I went for a long walk and got me a jewelry rack! It sure makes taking photos of earrings a lot easier. And speaking of earrings, this lot will soon be avaliable at Everyday Glory.

It all of a sudden hit me that I've been ordering a lot of jewelry supplies lately, which will soon arrive.. and I still have a LOT of supplies here in boxes and drawers that I need to make use of. So please; if you see anything you like in the shop, and would like it just a tad different, don't hesitate to let us know! Chances are that we can make it just the way you want it.

A good week

I had a pretty good week. It's been snowing like crazy and been quite windy since Wednesday, but today it finally stopped, and everything was pretty and white again. And cold.. On Thursday I went to see Rammstein playing at Valhall. Completely cold out. 13000 fans from all over Norway, by the sound and look of it. All though I've never been a huge fan, I've got to say that it was pretty spectacular to watch those guys! They play a tight show, and the numberous explotions, all the smoke and flamethrowers can make ones jaw drop to the floor. I think being Rammsteins pyro technician must be the coolest job in the whole, wide world. Nothing wrong with my job, but really...!

Today I helped Sigrid with a little demolition work on her kitchen. She's bought a new one at IKEA, and since it's being delivered tomorrow, she had her work cut out today. We managed to tear down most of the cupboards, and I especially want to give her credit for her way of seeing all items in her kitchen as potential tools. Her bread knife together with the hammer served as a handy tool to remove the things that really stuck to the wall.. Who needs a man, or a carpenter-demolition-guy right?

Desserts and beers

Last night D and I went to Sigrid's for dessert and some wine. Sigrid made dessert from rasberries and blueberries, and topped the whole thing off with marshmellows and gratinated it in the own. Two words: Sugar Rush! Very good!

We ended up going out, and tricked one of D's friends to come with us. We went to Olympen, which is a good place for drinking a few beers or having a glass of wine. When I come to think of it, the food there is quite good too. Aesthetically wise it's a dream. It kinda reminds me of an old theatre.

Later today we're going out for one of my favorites; Dim Sum!

A few curiosities

The day was spent organizing and clearing out lots of nick nacks from some moving boxes, from our last move in November.. My parents has kindly given me these beautiful old wooden boxes, from a local dairy. We plan to use these as book shelves, so today I washed off decades of dust and dirt.

We have yet to put pictures up on our walls, mostly because we lack frames, and therefore this has been put off for a long time. I guess I'll have to go on a raid to IKEA soon. This fantastic vintage lamp is one of the things I would like to hang on the wall in our hall, but Dylan remains to be convinced. I guess asking for someones forgiveness is a lot easier than asking for their approval.. hehe.

I also made myself this lovely necklace from a vintage rose pendant. The yellow is just perfect!

Nothing makes a quiet Sunday morning seem even better than dicovering that we made the Etsy frontpage on Friday. I like the different creations from this selection too. The color and the theme was really working.

Beads and more

I made these pretties a couple of weeks ago, and after snapping picures of them all separately, I took a family photo of them all. Look good together, don't they?? For sale at Everyday Glory.
Ah.. the colours and the shapes... sigh!

Yesterday me and some friends went to see Harry Potter and the half blood prince at the cinema. In my opinion not the best of the Harry Potter movies.

However; I always start looking forward to winter when I watch any of the Potter-movies. The beautiful white winter landscapes, and people dressed in thick scarves and sweaters does it for me, and makes me long for snow and the cold months..

This week we appeared on a Etsy frontpage where the theme was Harry Potter. Our necklace "The Golden Snitch" was featured along with a very cool scarf made by ParkaProject, which looks really good, not to mention warm! Nothing like having something you cannot just go to a chain store and buy! -And there's nothing like getting packages in the mail eigther!

Mmmmaling..

_____________________________

We are spending our last week of vacation doing up a little in our appartement, so that when we sell and move (preferably sometimes before Christmas), the 'to-do-list' will be some what shorter and the amount of panic will be at a minimum..

Rush hour

Okay, so neither Sigrid or I have been too active on the blog front lately. Too much to do, I guess. Spring is always very busy at work, and Sigrid have also accomplished to finish some rather heavy classes besides her job, and is now celebrating her achivements, -touring around in Europe.

Our Etsy shop has also suffered a bit under these stressful times, and sales have been a little slow. A lady on one of the Etsy forms said it well the other day; "to be succsessful on Etsy means you have to treat your shop as a business, not as a hobby".

But yeeey! We've been on the frontpage at least three times since last, and that's always very fun! And there's a LOT of beautiful jewelry in boxes just waiting to be photographed and put out for sale.. so drop in every now and then!

Others than that, (other than gluing) I am currently working with the scenography for our studio. Here's a miniature of the old one. Me and one of my co-workers made this one about two months ago, when it was a LOT quieter at work. It's 1:50. Hehe.

Hormones on the wall..

I think it's hillarious that my parents haven't removed some of the wall art in their bedroom, which used to be my room from the age of 11-15. Yup. There was hormones. I have always been drawing a lot, and I remember drawing this one. My mom was having a Tupperware party or something in the livingroom, so it was off limits, and I was spending a few hours in my room. I had seen the Bill and Ted movies and Point Break a few times, so I chose to draw Keanu Reeves on the door. I blame it on my 14 years of age..

Easter finds

I spent a couple of days at my parents house during easter. The attic there is amazing. It's full of treasures (-and crap) from the past. These have been dusted off and are currently living with me

A set of fancy dessert bowls from the 70's. My parents got them as a wedding present.

A large Norwegian designed porcelain mug, not sure when it dates from, but it used to belong to my grandmother. The small one, also Norwegian designed porcelain, just came with the house.

A happy mix of old plates, will do nicely as props for photographing jewlery.. maybe.

This one I did'nt bring home with me, it just looks interesting. It belonged to my older brother, and has been dismantled..

Once again my cubbards are full for sure, and I'm happy!

Easter

I spent most of last night coughing, so now I've given up trying to sleep any longer. Besides, the longer mornings I get, and the more quality time I get to spend alone with my coffee pot, the better the day will be! It's like in The Sims, when your Sim is doing something she/he/it enjoys, you see a giant green pluss sign over their heads. We'll.. Right now that's me.
Yesterday I went downtown with Sigrid to do some shopping before everything closes for the Easter. It was raining and a little bit chilly, so we bought coffee and set off. We went to Panduro (a large, wonderful, and scaringly expensive crafting supplies store) where I no longer am surprised when I hear the large sums the cashier wants me to hand over. It's almost like a ransom. Yes. I do buy a lot whenever I am there (which is not too often anymore). Amongst other things I bought this bird:

It looks good, ey? It's in metal, so I guess it's a Metal finch. I had to get it.

Our livingroom window sill, now with a little bit of Easter flare. I bought the nest earlier at Panduro, thinking I would use it as a prop when taking pictures of our jewelry for Everyday Glory, but it turened out a little tacky I think. Would'nt want to put off customers by having them think that the jewelry has bird fleas on them.. I might be paranoid here.

Some yummy Anthon Berg chocolate eggs are now nesting here. Too bad they won't hatch. If I found a way for chocolate to expand I would be rich.

Snapshots of Oslo

On Sunday I went for a walk. I brought my camera.

On our neighbour block there's a second hand shop with all kinds of things. It's a small shop, but every corner of it is filled with stuff. It has the oddest opening hours.. How about a cow skin backpack??

A mind fish.
Now that has to be reversed psycology..

Luckily there's a lot of concerts and shows in this city. Looks like they all came and went..

Number nine.. Or 9th of April if you like.
